Bring your own key
Paste a key from OpenRouter, OpenAI or Google, or point the app at a server you run. Requests made with your key go from your device straight to that provider. We don't proxy them and we don't mark them up. You pay the provider's own price.
No key yet? On Android, Windows and Linux a small free tier lets you try the app first. Those messages go through our server, because we pay the provider for them.
Streaming answers you can stop, edit and regenerate. Markdown, code and diagrams rendered properly. And the things other apps keep for their own models, working with whichever model you pick.

When a reasoning model returns its thinking, you can read it, fold it away, and set how hard the model should think.

Every AI request the app makes records its tokens and cost, and daily or monthly budgets keep you honest. When a price isn't known yet it shows as pending. It never shows as free.

Pro features are part of the Pro subscription on Android, Windows and Linux, and included at no charge on iPhone, iPad and Mac. What a feature can do depends on the model and provider you choose.
Agent mode · Pro
Give it a task and it plans, searches, reads, compares and writes, with a timeline you can follow and stop. Before a tool sends something out for you, like an email, you see the exact content. Change one character and it asks again.
What it will not do
Run shell commands, install packages or execute code it downloaded. The agent works through the app's own tools, each with its own permission. The model you choose still sees the task and its context.

Agent mode needs a tool-capable model through OpenRouter. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it is included, without the browser.
Privacy, itemized

Chats live in an encrypted SQLCipher database, keyed per account on that device.
API keys sit in the system's secure storage: Keychain on Apple, Android's secure storage, Windows' protected storage, the desktop keyring on Linux.
Requests made with your key go straight to the provider. You can limit OpenRouter to endpoints it lists under its zero-data-retention policy.
Content is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before upload; newer accounts derive keys with Argon2id. We do not hold the key needed to read your messages, titles or attachments. Record IDs and timestamps stay readable so sync can work.
Back up to S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, a network share, Google Drive on phones, or a local file. Scheduled backups are always encrypted; manual ones are when you set a backup passphrase.
A PIN on every platform, plus fingerprint or face unlock where the device supports it (Linux uses the PIN).
Allowlisted events and sanitized crash reports only. One switch in Settings stops future sends.
Delete your cloud account from Settings and a durable server-side cleanup removes it. Backups you made stay under your control.
Sync, backups and app lock are part of Pro on Android, Windows and Linux, and included on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The honest part
Encryption protects what we store. It can't hide a prompt from the model you send it to.
When you ask a cloud model something, that provider receives the message and whatever you attach. Choose providers, and zero-retention endpoints, with that in mind. For local-only chat, use a model server you run yourself and switch off the cloud helpers: automatic titles, cloud speech and web search.

The app is free to download. With your own key you pay only your provider, at their price. Pro is an optional subscription on Android, Windows and Linux that adds sync, the agent, web search, backups and app lock. On iPhone, iPad and Mac those are included, and tips are optional.
Chats are stored on your device. If you turn on sync, they are encrypted before upload and we do not hold the key needed to read them. The AI provider you send a message to does receive that message, which is why you choose the provider. Free-tier messages pass through our server on their way to the provider.
OpenRouter, with 450+ models including Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama and DeepSeek. OpenAI and Google Gemini directly with their own keys. And any OpenAI-compatible server you run, such as Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp, vLLM or LocalAI.
Yes, with a little setup. Point the app at a model server on your own machine or network, then switch off the helpers that use OpenRouter: voice transcription, cloud read-aloud, automatic titles and web search.
With sync, sign in on the new device and unlock your history with your sync passphrase, or with your 12-word recovery phrase if you created an account without an email. Without sync, restore a backup. Both are yours to set up before you need them.
The .deb is built for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and newer on 64-bit x86 and tested on Ubuntu. Other Debian-based distributions with the same libraries may work, but we do not test them yet.
